The University Senate has deliberated on a number of key issues aimed at strengthening academic standards and improving institutional effectiveness across the university.
The discussions took place during a Senate meeting held on 4 June 2026 and focused on reforms designed to enhance the university’s structures, policies, and operational systems.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Aiah Lebbie, commended members of the Senate for their valuable contributions. He emphasized the importance of continuous reforms in promoting quality education and institutional growth.
Among the issues discussed were sustainable funding mechanisms for tertiary institutions, admission requirements for Grade A universities, and measures to improve employment opportunities for graduates.
Senate members also examined research programmes, stressing the need for postgraduate research to address national development priorities and contribute to solving societal challenges.
The meeting further discussed strategies to increase enrolment in language studies, particularly foreign language programmes, to better prepare students for opportunities in an increasingly globalized world.
The deliberations form part of ongoing efforts by the university to strengthen academic excellence and improve the quality of higher education in Sierra Leone.

Probably going to mention this site in a write up I am working on later this month, and a stop at directioncrafting provided more material for that potential mention, content worth referencing in my own published work rather than just personal reading is content with the highest endorsement level and this site has earned that endorsement.

A genuine pleasure to find a site that publishes at a sustainable cadence rather than chasing the daily content treadmill, and a look at momentumthroughclarity confirmed the careful publication rhythm, sites that prioritise quality over frequency are rare and this one has clearly chosen the slower pace which I appreciate as a reader.
