SLFA Condemns Racist Abuse and Death Threats Against Juma Bah

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has strongly condemned the reported racist abuse and death threats directed at Sierra Leonean international defender Juma Bah, who is currently on loan at German Bundesliga club FC Augsburg.

In a press release, the SLFA expressed deep concern over the incident, including threats reportedly directed at the player’s family, describing such behaviour as unacceptable and having no place in football or society.

The association expressed solidarity with Bah, his family and FC Augsburg during the difficult period. It also commended the German club for reporting the incident to the police and pursuing legal action against those responsible.

The SLFA said every player deserved to compete and live without fear of racial discrimination, harassment or threats to personal safety.

It called on football governing bodies, clubs, law enforcement agencies, social media platforms and supporters worldwide to unite against racism and take decisive action against perpetrators.

The association reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive football environment where players are respected and valued regardless of their skin colour, nationality or background.

“Juma Bah is not alone. Sierra Leone stands with him,” the SLFA stated, reiterating its support for the player and FC Augsburg.

The association concluded by emphasising that racism has no place in football.
