Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has called for unity, calm, and cooperation among local authorities during a meeting with mayors and district chairpersons from APC-led councils across the country.
The meeting, held under his role as Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on Decentralization and Local Governance, brought together local government leaders to discuss operational challenges facing councils amid the ongoing political situation.
Vice President Jalloh said the discussions focused on finding a quick resolution to the political impasse while ensuring that councils continue to function effectively and deliver services to citizens.
He emphasized the importance of continued dialogue, noting that there is strong commitment among stakeholders to sustain engagement and address challenges jointly.
The Vice President encouraged participants to use the IMC as a platform for cooperation and problem-solving, stressing that it plays a key role in facilitating dialogue and developing shared solutions.
He reminded leaders of their responsibility to serve the public interest, saying that collaboration rather than division is essential for improving local governance and service delivery across Sierra Leone.
The meeting ended with a shared commitment to strengthen cooperation and prioritize the needs of citizens in local development efforts.
