
Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, National Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), last week received former Speaker of Parliament Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu and former Minister of Energy Mansa Alhaji Kanja Sesay at the SLPP Headquarters, Unity House.
The discussions focused on peace, reconciliation, and strengthening unity within the Party. Both former regional chairmen congratulated the Party leadership on recent electoral successes and encouraged continued solidarity among SLPP executives and members as the Party prepares for the 2028 elections.
Dr. Bundu and Mansa Sesay, who previously led the Party in the North and South regions, were recognized for their role in consolidating grassroots structures, mobilizing support, and maintaining cohesion during critical periods of the Party’s journey. Their presence at Unity House highlighted the SLPP’s national reach and commitment to unity across Sierra Leone.
Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa expressed appreciation for their visit and long-standing contributions to the Party’s growth, noting that their leadership helped secure the Party’s victory in 2018 and continues to support its progress under President Julius Maada Wonie Bio.

Grassroots supporters and senior Party members gathered to welcome the senior leaders, reflecting the Party’s strong cohesion and vibrant national character. Dr. Bundu and Mansa Sesay departed confident in the Party’s leadership and direction.
