SLFA Trains Match Commissioners, Coordinators

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has conducted training for Match Commissioners and General Coordinators ahead of the start of the new domestic league season.

The training is part of the SLFA’s efforts to improve match-day administration, professionalism and compliance with football regulations.

Speaking to participants, SLFA Vice President 1, Alie Badara Tarawalie, urged Match Commissioners and General Coordinators to perform their duties with professionalism, integrity and impartiality.

He reminded them that they represent the Federation at match venues and have an important role in ensuring that matches are properly organised and conducted in accordance with the rules.

Tarawalie also warned against match manipulation, misconduct and other forms of malpractice that could undermine the integrity of Sierra Leonean football.

The Match Commissioners’ session was facilitated by SLFA Vice President 2 and Chief Commissioner, Prince Kai Saquee, alongside Emilia Jengo. The session covered match-day procedures, reporting, regulations, disciplinary matters, venue coordination and communication with clubs and officials.

The General Coordinators’ training was facilitated by Sorie Ibrahim Sesay and Miriam Yvonne Heroe. Participants were taken through match-day coordination, safety and security, operational planning, communication and post-match reporting.

The training also provided participants with an opportunity to discuss challenges from previous competitions and practical ways of addressing them.

The SLFA said the training is aimed at ensuring that domestic league matches are administered in a professional, transparent and credible manner as the new season gets underway.
