Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner Wins Prestigious Global Diplomatic Award

His Excellency Dr. Morie Komba Manyeh, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, was honoured on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, with the Diplomatic Leadership & Global Policy Impact Award. The accolade, presented at the Clevenard Media Awards 2025, recognizes outstanding contributions to diplomacy, governance, and global policy.

The award highlights Dr. Manyeh’s leadership as Chairman of the Commonwealth Foundation Grants Committee, where he has promoted transparency, strengthened institutional accountability, and fostered citizen participation across the Commonwealth. His participation in international forums, including the Oxford Africa Conference and the Chatham House Policy Roundtable on Africa’s Energy Transition, further underscores his commitment to Africa’s role in global policy.

Since assuming his diplomatic post in 2019, Dr. Manyeh has represented Sierra Leone in the UK, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, and Norway, advocating for inclusive development, regional cooperation, and sustainable policy frameworks. Prior to his diplomatic career, he served as Sierra Leone’s Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources and held academic and leadership roles across Africa, Europe, and North America.

Reflecting on the honour, Dr. Manyeh said:
“This award is a testament not only to my work, but to the transformative vision of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio… Above all, it reflects the resilience of the Sierra Leonean people, young and old, who remain determined to build a stronger nation. I dedicate this recognition to them.”

The ceremony also celebrated leaders from around the world, including former First Lady of Botswana Neo Jane Masisi, Nigerian diplomat Mrs. Binta A. Dala, and South African Businesswoman Dr. Danisa E. Baloyi, among others.
