Sierra Leone Delegation Arrives for IMF Meetings

The leader of Sierra Leone’s delegation to the 2026 World Bank Group/IMF Spring Meetings, Hon. Sheku Fantamadi Bangura, Minister of Finance, has arrived in Washington, DC.

The World Bank Group/IMF Meetings bring together central bankers, Ministers of Finance, and private sector leaders to discuss the global economic outlook, poverty reduction, and financial stability.

The meetings are scheduled to take place from April 13 to 16, 2026.

This year’s meetings will focus on debt, economic recovery, and private sector mobilization.

Sierra Leone’s delegation includes the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Hon. Dr. Sao-Kpato Hannah Max-Kyne; the Governor of the Central Bank of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ibrahim Stevens; the Financial Secretary, Matthew Dingie; and other officials.

The Finance Minister was received at Dulles International Airport by His Excellency Ambassador Amara Sowa, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the United States of America, along with embassy staff.
