Parliament Pays Tribute to Late Hon. Lucinda Finda Kellie

Members of Parliament on Wednesday paid tribute to the late Hon. Lucinda Finda Kellie during an official lying-in-state ceremony held at Parliament in Freetown.

The ceremony included the laying of wreaths and the signing of a Book of Condolence in honour of the former Member of Parliament for Kono District.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Director of Parliamentary and Public Relations, Sheku Lamin Turay, described the late parliamentarian as a dedicated representative who served on several parliamentary committees and was committed to her Christian faith.

Deputy Majority Leader of Government Business 2, Hon. Saa Emerson Lamina, praised Hon. Kellie for her humility, dedication, and service to the people of Sierra Leone. He said she was a respected member of the All People’s Congress (APC) and inspired many young people through her leadership and compassion.

Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, described her death as a great loss to her family, Parliament, the APC, and the nation. He said she was known for her kindness, generosity, and concern for others.

President of the Parliamentary Female Caucus, Hon. Bernadette Wuyatta Songa, said Hon. Kellie was a strong advocate for unity and women’s leadership. She noted that her contribution to public service would continue to inspire future generations.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Kumba Kellie Kaikai described the late parliamentarian as a prayerful and caring mother who devoted her life to supporting relatives and loved ones.

Hon. Lucinda Finda Kellie is remembered for her commitment to public service, her faith, and her dedication to the people she served.
