Freetown City Council Hosts Sightsavers Delegation on Inclusion Project

By Mohamed Kamara

The Freetown City Council recently welcomed the global team of Sightsavers for a visit aimed at strengthening collaboration and deepening understanding of ongoing development efforts in Sierra Leone.

The visit provided an opportunity for the team to learn more about the work being carried out under the Inclusive Citizens’ Political Participation Project.

The engagement also created a platform for open dialogue between partners, allowing them to exchange insights, ask questions, and explore ways to further improve project implementation.

The project is being jointly implemented by the Freetown City Council, Sightsavers, Youth Climate Council Sierra Leone, and the Organization of Persons with Disabilities in Sierra Leone.

It focuses on promoting inclusive participation in political and civic processes, particularly for marginalized groups.

Stakeholders say the visit will help strengthen partnerships and support continued efforts toward building a more inclusive and participatory society in Sierra Leone.
