The Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission (SLEWRC) has commenced a capacity-building training programme with Uganda’s Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) in Kampala, Uganda.
The training, which runs from 19 to 23 October 2026, focuses on key areas of electricity regulation, including regulatory leadership and governance, financial regulation, licensing and compliance, utility performance and consumer protection.
The programme is aimed at strengthening SLEWRC’s institutional capacity and enhancing the knowledge and skills of its personnel in effective regulatory practices.

Through the engagement, SLEWRC also seeks to identify best practices from Uganda that can be adapted to Sierra Leone’s context to improve regulatory oversight and electricity service delivery.
The initiative is expected to contribute to more effective regulation and improved electricity services in Sierra Leone.
