The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has officially launched a modern Blood Bank and Dental Clinic at the Police Hospital in Kingtom as part of efforts to improve healthcare services for police personnel and their families.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior police officers, government officials, medical professionals, and other stakeholders.
Speaking on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sahr Yomba Senesi, described the facilities as a major milestone in the Police Force’s commitment to improving the welfare of officers. He noted that the Blood Bank would enhance emergency response services, while the Dental Clinic would improve oral healthcare for police personnel and their dependants.
Representing the Minister of Internal Affairs, Permanent Secretary Edwards Ngaujah commended the police leadership for prioritizing healthcare and staff welfare.

Director of Medical Service, AIG Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Jalloh, said the project forms part of the ongoing transformation of the Police Hospital into a fully equipped medical facility capable of providing specialized services.
Medical Superintendent of the Police Hospital, ASP Dr. John Mumuneh Konteh, expressed appreciation to the police leadership and partners for supporting the establishment of the facilities.
The event concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, ribbon-cutting ceremony, and inspection of the new Blood Bank and Dental Clinic.
The new facilities are expected to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve the welfare of police officers and their families.
