Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Fatima Maada Bio, has praised Chief Justice Komba Kamanda for his leadership in hosting a major regional judicial meeting in Freetown.

Speaking on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio at a sendoff dinner held at Lagoonda Hotel, the First Lady described the Chief Justice’s efforts as visionary and impactful. The event marked the close of the first ECOWAS Judicial Council Statutory Meeting, which brought together top judges and legal experts from across West Africa.
Mrs. Bio said Chief Justice Kamanda’s leadership has helped strengthen Sierra Leone’s judiciary while also promoting unity and cooperation within the region. She noted that the gathering created an opportunity for judges and legal professionals to build stronger relationships beyond the courtroom.

She also described the event as a sign of Sierra Leone’s commitment to regional solidarity and progress, adding that the Chief Justice continues to serve with dignity and dedication.
The program ended with a vote of thanks from High Court Judge Khalila Diana Kamara, who expressed appreciation to all participants for making the event a success.
