Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh of Sierra Leone has participated in the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) 2026 held in Germany, where he joined global leaders in discussions on pressing international challenges.
The Vice President took part in a high-level panel titled “Navigating the Hormuz Crisis: Forging a Collective Response,” alongside senior officials from the United Nations, African Development Bank, and other global institutions.

During the discussions, VP Jalloh highlighted the impact of global geopolitical tensions on developing countries, noting that such shocks often lead to rising costs in food, fuel, and energy in vulnerable economies like Sierra Leone.
He called for stronger international cooperation and urged multilateral institutions to establish a Global South Shock Absorption Facility to support countries affected by external economic disruptions.
He further emphasized the need for a shift from crisis recovery to crisis prevention through more resilient and responsive financing systems.
The conference brought together world leaders, policymakers, and development partners to explore solutions to global economic, energy, and sustainability challenges.
