The Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Kenema Division, has intensified operations against drug dealers, consumers and other persons suspected of involvement in drug-related activities in Kenema City.

The operation, conducted on 31 August 2026, targeted ghettos and other locations suspected of being used for the sale and consumption of illicit drugs.

It was led by Operations Officer Inspector Mohammed Conteh, alongside OSD Commander Inspector Barnard Ndomawa and other police personnel.

The operation resulted in the seizure of substances suspected to be illicit drugs and the arrest of several suspected dealers, consumers and other individuals found in areas associated with drug activities.

The police said the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to fight drug-related offences, prevent crime and maintain peace and security in Kenema.

The SLP has also called on members of the public to provide reliable information about suspected drug dealers, drug-selling points and other criminal activities in their communities.
