SLP, COMAHS Sign Healthcare Training MoU

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening medical education, clinical training, and healthcare service delivery in Sierra Leone.

The agreement was formalised during a high-level engagement at the Senior Officers’ Mess in Kingtom on the sidelines of the Sierra Leone Police Executive Management Board meeting. The event brought together senior officials from both institutions to mark the start of a strategic partnership.

Presenting the rationale for the collaboration, the Director of Medical Services of the SLP, AIG Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Jalloh, explained that the MoU provides a framework for cooperation, allowing both institutions to share expertise, resources, and training opportunities.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sahr Yomba Senesi, described the partnership as significant to the transformation of the SLP into a service-oriented institution, noting that it would enhance the capacity of the Police Medical Services Directorate.

Speaking on behalf of COMAHS, Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor James B. W. Russell described the MoU as a landmark step, emphasizing that it would improve medical education and practical training for students while strengthening healthcare delivery in Sierra Leone.

He expressed appreciation to the SLP for granting access to the Kingtom Police Hospital and assured that the partnership would contribute to improving healthcare outcomes and professional development in the country.
