SLFA Secures 20% Increase in Leone Rock Sponsorship Deal

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), steered by President Babadi Kamara, successfully secured a 20 percent increase in the Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) sponsorship for the 2025/2026 Premier League season, raising the package from $150,000 last season to $180,000 this campaign.

Leone Rock sponsored the 2023/24 season with $80,000 under the Victor Lewis Board. The sponsor was reportedly unhappy that the championship prize money for Bo Rangers and runners-up Bhantal FC was not paid.

President Babadi Kamara said the current increase was achieved through transparent budgeting, accountability, and proactive engagement with Leone Rock.

“They raised the sponsorship because they saw our diligence and commitment to getting it right. We appreciate their continued support for football in Sierra Leone.”

He stressed that football is more than a game; it unites communities and supports livelihoods, from youth players to market women at game venues.

The SLFA President assured that under his administration, championship prizes will be presented on the day the trophy is awarded, restoring confidence with investors and fans alike.

The Leone Rock Premier League starts today across Sierra Leone with Ports Authority set to host Luawa FC, Bhantal taking on Bullom Stars, Bo Rangers entertaining Kamboi Eagles, while Bai Bureh Warriors face Abacha City FC.
