The Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) has commissioned new welfare facilities at the Forward Patrol Base in Sanya, Thamakha Yobangie Chiefdom, Karene District.
The facilities, which include an Other Ranks Canteen, a Warrant Officer Quarter, and a Saluting Dais, were commissioned under the leadership of the Officer in Charge of the base, Major Foday Kamara.

The ceremony was attended by military leaders from the 4th Infantry Battalion in Makeni, representatives of the Guinean military from Madina Oula, and local community leaders.
Speaking at the event, Major Kamara said the facilities were constructed to improve the welfare of military personnel and provide a venue for interaction between security personnel and community members.

He noted that the base regularly hosts military officials from Guinea and community elders as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation, friendship, and mutual understanding between the two armed forces and local communities.
The commissioning forms part of ongoing efforts to improve welfare and promote good relations between the military and the communities they serve.
