President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has unveiled three major football development projects aimed at transforming the sport in Sierra Leone.

The announcement was made at the SLFA Secretariat on Friday, 22nd May, where he outlined plans for a new SLFA headquarters, the construction of a 435-seater pavilion, and the implementation of the FIFA Arena Project.
According to President Babadi, the new SLFA Secretariat will be relocated to a modern administrative building, while the current Football Academy will be converted into a dedicated technical centre by September.
He also revealed the construction of a 435-seater pavilion at the SLFA Academy Field in Kingtom, a project valued at $244,000, which he said is being privately funded as part of efforts to improve football infrastructure.
The FIFA Arena Project will see the construction of modern football pitches at Alberta Academy School and The Bo School, with plans to expand to other schools across the country to push youth football development.

The sod-cutting ceremony for the pavilion was attended by government officials, including the Minister of Sport, Madam Augusta James Teima, and Executive Director of National Sports Authority, Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq, who praised the initiative as a major step in developing football in Sierra Leone.

Speaking at the event, stakeholders commended the SLFA leadership for its commitment to improving facilities and creating better opportunities for players and fans.
President Babadi Kamara stressed that the projects are part of a broader vision to modernize football administration and improve access to quality sporting infrastructure across the country.
