The Minister of Health, Austin Demby, has unveiled new medical equipment, including a CT scan machine and a 4D ultrasound, at Kenema Government Hospital to improve healthcare services.
The new CT scan machine, with 64-slice imaging capability, is expected to boost diagnostic and treatment services for patients in Kenema and nearby districts. The Minister said the equipment will help strengthen healthcare delivery and support specialized medical services.

During the event, the Minister also handed over keys to newly procured staff buses and utility vehicles to support health workers. He noted that the vehicles will ease transportation challenges and improve service delivery.
The government says these developments are part of ongoing efforts to improve the country’s health system. Recently, President Julius Maada Bio commissioned additional buses, vehicles, and medical equipment in Bo and at Connaught Hospital in Freetown.
