Hon. Rosemarie Bangura Elected Vice Chair of West Africa Regional Caucus at PAP

The Sierra Leone Parliamentary Delegation to the Pan-African Parliament has achieved a significant milestone with the election of Hon. Rosemarie Bangura as Vice Chairperson of the West Africa Regional Caucus.

The election took place on 1st May 2026 in Johannesburg, South Africa, during the Seventh Legislature of the Pan-African Parliament. Hon. Bangura emerged victorious to represent the West African regional bloc within the continental body.

Her election is seen as a strong recognition of Sierra Leone’s growing contribution and active participation in the Pan-African Parliament, particularly in advancing the goals of continental integration and development.

Hon. Bangura, who represents Tonkolili District in the Sierra Leone Parliament, also serves as Vice President of the Sierra Leone Parliamentary Female Caucus.

Her new role is expected to strengthen Sierra Leone’s voice in regional parliamentary affairs and promote greater collaboration across West Africa.
