Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, with accreditation to India, Rashid Sesay, has engaged Indian investors and African diplomats, inviting them to participate in the upcoming West Africa Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS) 2026.

The summit, scheduled for November 16–18 in Sierra Leone, is an initiative of President Julius Maada Bio aimed at providing a platform for African countries to showcase investment opportunities and bankable projects.

Speaking in Goa State, Ambassador Sesay encouraged Indian investors to attend the summit and explore business opportunities in Sierra Leone and the wider West African region.

He highlighted the importance of African integration, collaboration and collective efforts in promoting economic growth and attracting investment to the continent.

The Ambassador identified agriculture, marine resources and critical minerals as some of Sierra Leone’s key investment opportunities. He also highlighted the government’s Feed Salone programme, noting that investors could benefit from government support, tax flexibility and concessions.

He further described Sierra Leone as a peaceful destination for investment, pointing to reforms such as the establishment of the National Investment Board and its One-Stop platform to facilitate business operations and reduce investment bottlenecks.

Founder and Global President of the Global India Business Forum, Dr. Jitendra Joshi, also expressed interest in strengthening business partnerships between India and Africa, highlighting opportunities in agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, mining, renewable energy and manufacturing.

The event, attended by Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, brought together Indian business executives and African diplomats from more than 30 countries.
