Financial Secretary Honoured at World Public Service Day 2026

The Financial Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Matthew Dingie, has been honoured for his outstanding contribution to public financial management and governance in Sierra Leone.

The recognition was made by the Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Administration and Political Affairs during the World Public Service Day 2026 commemoration.

The event, held under the theme “Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Participation and Inclusion,” celebrated public servants who have demonstrated excellence in service delivery and leadership.

Mr. Dingie was recognized for his stewardship of public finances, with emphasis on transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline. As Financial Secretary, he serves as the government’s principal adviser on economic and financial policy and has played a key role in advancing public financial management reforms.

Organizers also highlighted his more than 20 years of service in the Civil Service, describing his career as one marked by professionalism and consistent performance.

The award forms part of government efforts to acknowledge and encourage public servants contributing to institutional reform and improved service delivery across the country.
