The Anti-Corruption Commission Sierra Leone has reinforced its partnership with the Sierra Leone Police following an engagement at the Motema Divisional Headquarters in Nimikoro Chiefdom, Kono District.

The meeting also served to officially welcome the newly transferred Local Unit Commander, Chief Superintendent Alimamy Gibril Sesay, to the division.
Acting ACC Regional Director in Kono, Andrew Demby, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two institutions, noting that joint efforts in intelligence sharing and investigations have contributed to successful prosecutions in the district.
He referenced an ongoing High Court case involving the alleged misappropriation of Free Health Care drugs as an example of effective cooperation between the ACC and the police.
Demby urged officers to uphold integrity, professionalism, and accountability, stressing that public trust is key to effective policing. He also encouraged officers to familiarize themselves with relevant laws, including the Anti-Corruption Act and the Criminal Procedure Act, to ensure they operate within legal limits.
The ACC further briefed officers on the Whistle Blower and Witness Protection Regulations 2025 and reminded them of the upcoming asset declaration exercise.
In his response, Chief Superintendent Sesay thanked the ACC for the engagement and pledged to strengthen collaboration while maintaining high professional standards.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to combat corruption and improve law enforcement in Kono District.
