During the meeting, AIG Meinday praised the union for its contribution to national transport services and urged members to prioritize helmet use, noting that most rider and pillion fatalities in the region result from head injuries.

CSP Emmanuel Kpulun, Local Unit Commander of Kenema Division, reminded riders, especially those riding at night, to remain vigilant, stressing that helmet compliance is a national safety priority.
Representatives from the Road Safety Authority called for collective responsibility in reducing accidents, while BRU Kenema Chairman Patrick Brima Mando pledged the union’s support but raised concerns over potential health issues and public resistance.

He appealed for a professional approach to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
The meeting ended with a commitment from all parties to cooperate for a smooth rollout of helmet enforcement operations.
