The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has fined the All Peoples Congress (APC) Party for violations of the Political Parties Act 2022 during its “Mammoth Meeting” held at Atouga Mini Stadium in Freetown on Saturday, 31st January 2026.

According to the Commission, fines of Two Hundred Thousand Leones (Le 200,000) and One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Leones (Le 150,000) were imposed on the National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya, and Zainab Sheriff respectively, for breaches of Section 39 (1)(c) and Section 39 (1)(d) of the Act.
The PPRC noted that by letter dated 11th November 2025, the APC had been warned against contravening the law, but the Commission said the statements made at the rally were profane, obscene, provocative, and inciting.
The party has been given seven (7) days to pay the fines, after which the Commission said it will take further action as provided under the law.
The PPRC stressed that political parties must adhere to the provisions of the Act to ensure peaceful and lawful conduct during public gatherings.
