A shooting incident at the Armed Forces Training Centre (AFTC) in Benguema on Tuesday morning has left two military personnel dead, the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) has confirmed.

According to an official statement, the incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m. when Corporal Kamara, also known as “No. 9,” allegedly shot and killed his superior officer, Major Abdul Larkoh.
Reports indicate that shortly after the shooting, Corporal Kamara attempted to take his own life in an apparent effort to evade arrest and investigation.
He was arrested while in a critical condition and rushed to the 34 Military Hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The leadership of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces has ordered an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
RSLAF assured the public that updates would be provided as investigations continue and more facts emerge.
