The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Conrad Sackey, has announced the release of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, pointing out major achievements in the country’s education sector.

According to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), results were released for 143,985 candidates. However, over 3,500 results have been withheld due to unpaid fees and suspected examination malpractice.

Jalloh Miriam Roselyn from the Modern Academy School of Excellence was named the best-performing candidate. She scored 4 A1s, 3 B2s, and 2 B3s, with an impressive average grade unit of 1.78.

She was closely followed by another female student from the International Secondary School in Freetown, who achieved 6 A1s, 2 B3s, and a C5, with an average grade of 1.89.

Kamboi Senior Secondary School in Kenema was recognized as the best-performing school, with all its candidates meeting university entry requirements, achieving a 100% pass rate.
