The Sierra Leone Police (SLP), in a press conference at the Police Officers’ Mess Kingtom, has confirmed the arrest of four hardcore armed robbers.

These robbers, according to the Director of Operations, ACP Alieu Jalloh, have been terrorising many localities in the East of Freetown, including the ‘Devil Hole’ community.
ACP Jalloh revealed that their forensic records show that the said individuals had earlier been convicted for related crimes and made it out during the prison break of 2023.
SLP said the owners of the houses in which the culprits were found will be invited to the CID for questioning.
It publicly displayed the pistol and other sophisticated tools the robbers normally use to break doors in their operations.
They went on to say it is waging a war against “armed robbery” to ensure that Sierra Leoneans go about their normal businesses during the festive season.

In another major operation, police intercepted a container containing approximately 4,269 imported daggers and swords under suspicious circumstances.
Authorities disclosed that individuals connected to the consignment are assisting with investigations to determine the intended purpose of the weapons.
The SLP described the seizure as a proactive measure aimed at preventing the proliferation of dangerous weapons that could threaten public safety and national security.
