His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio last week welcomed the Ambassador of Egypt to Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Rasha Soliman Mohi Eldin Soliman, at State House. The ambassador reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

The visit comes after President Bio’s state visit to Egypt in March 2025, where several cooperation agreements were signed in areas such as agriculture, defence, infrastructure, ports, and fisheries. Ambassador Soliman praised the progress made in implementing these agreements and expressed Egypt’s desire to deepen the relationship.
Ambassador Soliman also extended an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for President Bio to attend the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Great Pyramids, which will be the world’s largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization.
President Bio thanked President El-Sisi and the Egyptian government for their continued partnership and emphasized the importance of the agreements in benefiting both nations. He also expressed gratitude for the invitation to the museum’s opening, highlighting its significance as a symbol of history and culture.
