With support from a philanthropist who resides in America, Mrs. Adama Vandy Konneh, seasoned football administrator and 2021 Sierra Leone Football Association Presidential candidate Sadick Deen-Nyarkoh, on Saturday, 8th November 2025, donated 20 bags of 50kg rice to the Waterloo Amputee Team (Waterloo FC).
The donation came after the team captain, Mohamed S. Kamara, visited Mr. Deen-Nyarkoh and solicited assistance from him.
According to Mr. Deen-Nyarkoh, together with the amputee football team players, they did some video footages and sent them viral on his social media fora and were later contacted by Mrs. Konneh, who promised to come to their aid.
He continued that Mrs. Konneh delivered on her promise and wired a sum of NLe 7,000, which she said Mr. Deen-Nyarkoh should use to buy rice and present it to the team.
“Mrs. Konneh sent NLe 7,000 and said I should purchase bags of rice for you, but I thought it wise to withhold some fiscal cash of NLe 600 that will source the rice,” Mr. Deen-Nyarkoh reiterated.
Receiving the donated 20 bags of rice and NLe 600 from Mr. Deen-Nyarkoh on behalf of the team, Mohamed S. Kamara foremost thanked God Almighty and lauded Mrs. Konneh and Mr. Deen-Nyarkoh, further asking for divine blessings for them.
“This is a big boost for us. Without you (Mr. Deen-Nyarkoh), we wouldn’t get this. We are overwhelmed with happiness, and we hope this will be the first of many in the future,” Mohamed S. Kamara ended.
Meanwhile, Mr. Deen-Nyarkoh, the CEO of Deen-Nyarkoh’s Smile Bakery, pledged to keep knocking on doors for more help.
