The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) today received Dr. Sama S. Banya, National Chairman Emeritus, at Unity House.

He was warmly welcomed by the Deputy National Chairman, Mr. Robert Kondema Kargbo, and National Chairman, Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa.
Dr. Banya has been appointed Chief Adviser to the Party’s National Elders Council, a role that recognizes his lifelong leadership, wisdom, and commitment to the SLPP.
He expressed his readiness to serve the Party with dedication for the rest of his life.
During discussions, Dr. Banya praised the Party’s recent structural reforms and urged members to set aside differences, stressing unity, discipline, and focus ahead of preparations for the 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
He also called on Party executives to remain neutral in upcoming leadership and Flagbearer selection processes to ensure credibility and transparency.
Grassroots supporters welcomed Dr. Banya with the celebratory song, “We Papa Don Kam!”, reflecting their respect and admiration.
He left Unity House confident in the Party’s strong and capable leadership.
