Thirteen personnel of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) are set to be deployed to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) at the end of March 2026.
The team, made up of ten men and three women, will join international peacekeepers working to maintain peace and stability in South Sudan.
Before their departure, the officers received a briefing from Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, who urged them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity during their mission.
He reminded them that they would be representing both the Sierra Leone Police and the country, encouraging them to maintain the strong reputation built by previous peacekeepers.
The deployment highlights Sierra Leone’s continued commitment to supporting global peacekeeping efforts.
