President Julius Maada Bio has officially received letters of credence from six newly appointed ambassadors to Sierra Leone in a ceremony at State House last week.

The new envoys include Liberia’s Bob H. Sheriff, Côte d’Ivoire’s M’Brah Aya Georgette, Ireland’s Patrick Joseph McManus, Germany’s Dr. Pascal Richter, Lebanon’s Dr. Farah Farah, and the Philippines’ Mersole J. Mellejor.
President Bio welcomed the ambassadors and reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to peace, stability, and mutual cooperation with their nations.

He expressed optimism about strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, highlighting shared goals in education, human capital development, and youth empowerment.
The President also acknowledged Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire for their role in promoting regional integration and cross-border trade, while thanking Côte d’Ivoire for its collaboration in energy and economic cooperation.

The ambassadors thanked President Bio for the warm reception and pledged to align their diplomatic efforts with Sierra Leone’s development priorities, promising to enhance cooperation and people-to-people ties.
President Bio emphasized that stronger bilateral relationships can deliver “win-win outcomes” for the nations and their citizens.
