The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has held talks with the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Yusuf Burak Rende, aimed at strengthening media partnerships and capacity building between the two countries.

The meeting took place last week at the Minister’s office in Freetown. It was also attended by the Director of Civic Education and Citizen’s Engagement, Timothy Sam.
Discussions focused on strategic communication, development cooperation and joint investment storytelling. Minister Bah commended Turkey’s strong national branding and communication model, noting that Sierra Leone could learn from Turkey’s approach to strategic communication, diplomacy and national image projection.
He expressed interest in structured exchanges, media partnerships and training opportunities in civic engagement and new media.
Ambassador Rende reaffirmed Turkey’s readiness to deepen cooperation through training support and exchange programmes for communication professionals, as well as technical collaboration between relevant institutions.

Both officials also highlighted the importance of coordinated storytelling to showcase investment and development achievements, including the contribution of Turkish companies such as Summa Group.
The meeting ended with a commitment from both sides to strengthen Sierra Leone–Turkey relations through enhanced communication cooperation, capacity building and continued diplomatic engagement
