The Right to Access Information Commission (RAIC) has announced that Sierra Leone will host the 2026 International Conference of Information Commissioners from 28th to 30th September 2026 in Freetown.
Dr. Ibrahim Seaga Shaw, Chairman of RAIC, urged public institutions to be proactive in sharing information and to use their platforms to keep citizens informed.
Dr. Shaw emphasized that hosting the international conference is a step toward strengthening transparency and good governance in Sierra Leone.
The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, revealed that a recent evaluation on Right to Access Information compliance ranked Sierra Leone first, ahead of countries including Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Ghana, the Maldives, and Kenya.
