The National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sierra Leone Standards Bureau (SLSB) to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions. The signing ceremony took place at NPRA’s headquarters at Tower Hill, British Council Building.

This landmark agreement aims to enhance cooperation, promote standardization, and improve service delivery in the petroleum sector. Both institutions will work together to ensure that ongoing reforms benefit consumers and support government policies.
Speaking at the event, NPRA Director General Brima Baluwa Koroma praised the leadership of SLSB and emphasized the importance of effective coordination to reduce delays and increase efficiency in the industry.
He said, “Harmonizing our goals and improving our working relationship will help us deliver better services and meet industry standards, including ECOWAS petroleum quality requirements.”
Dr. John Paul Kai Sam, Executive Director of SLSB, reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the agreement and working closely with stakeholders to protect consumers.
NPRA has also signed MoUs with the National Revenue Authority and the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration, with plans underway to partner with the Environmental Protection Agency.
