Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby
Mpox cases in Sierra Leone have sharply declined, dropping from 200 daily infections to just single digits, Minister of Health Dr. Austin Demby said.

This dramatic decrease highlights the success of ongoing health interventions in the country.
At the same time, Dr. Demby officially launched a new online recruitment portal aimed at hiring 3,000 health workers nationwide.
The portal, accessible at www.recruitment.mohs.gov.sl, promises a transparent, fair, and accountable process.
He urged all eligible citizens to apply, emphasizing that the process is free and requires no personal connections.
Dr. Demby also highlighted other major health achievements, including a 76% reduction in maternal mortality, the fastest decline recorded globally, and vaccination coverage exceeding 95% over the past five years.
The Ministry remains committed to strengthening the health workforce to sustain and build on these successes.
