Mid-West End 7-Year Title Drought

On Sunday, Mid-West joined elated fans to celebrate their hard-earned feat after defeating Police by 19 runs to clinch the 2025 Champion trophy of the Sierra Leone Senior Men’s T20 Cricket Premier League.

They laid claim to the league’s grace after seven years, winning nine out of nine matches.

In the scorching sun on Sunday at the Kingtom Police Oval, the Officers won the toss and opted to bowl.

To this deal, the Westerners took charge and posted120 runs for the loss of 9 in 20 overs.

The reply curved off focus as the Officers answered with daring 102 runs, but all were sent out in 16 overs, giving the Western men much convenience to secure the first place by bossy 19 runs.

Then, the third place went to Special Line by default as Asian Lions did not show up.

Though third by default, Special Line raced for the highest run scorer at the bat of their own very John Bangura who hit 209 runs in seven innnings, with a strike rate of 147.18.

Most Valuable Player and Best Bowler went to Mohamed Khan of Asian Lions. In eight innings, he took seventeen wickets with 6.32 bowling economy as Yegbeh Jalloh of Police clinched the Best Fielder post, dismissing fifteen batters.

The Officers were looking forward to ending their two-year champion drought, but the Westerners were far grimmer for the spell-removal endeavour.
