Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Jay Shah has urged African cricket leaders to push for ICC full membership and maintain a grip at the level.

He made this call at FNB Nambia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, Namibia on Tuesday during a series of meetings with cricket presidents from 12 African countries.
The collective engagement was described as first of its kind in the history of ICC, targeting strategic cricket development programmes.
Shah expressed commitment to working with Africa and its Associate Members to promote cricket on the continent.

He called on all to work towards growing the game, stating that he is willing to support Africa and create link between the continent and major cricket federations.
He also assured the leaders of forging access that will ensure that African cricketers secure placements in major world cricket leagues.
