Port Loko Hosts Opening Clash as Sugar Sharge Cruise Past Young Boys

The 2026 FA Cup organized by the Sierra Leone Football Association kicked off in Port Loko today with a district preliminary match between Sugar Sharge FC and Young Boys FC.
The opening ceremony attracted football officials, stakeholders, and fans.
SLFA Vice President 1 Alie Badara Tarawallie delivered remarks on behalf of President Babadi Kamara, expressing satisfaction with the successful start of the competition.

North-East Chairman Abdul Osman Turay (AOT) also thanked the SLFA leadership for their support and promised a well-organized tournament.

On the field, Sugar Sharge FC defeated Young Boys FC 3-0. Mohamed Sesay opened the scoring in the 56th minute with Yome Kamara and Osman A. Kanu hitting late on.
District preliminary matches in other parts of the country begin tomorrow.

The tournament winner will represent Sierra Leone in the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2026/27 season.
