The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has reaffirmed its strong commitment to the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone.
Patrick Sandi, ACC’s Director of Operations

Speaking recently, Patrick Sandi, Director of Operations at the ACC, said the 2019 amendment to the 2008 Anti-Corruption Act has given the Commission broader powers to operate. He noted that the Commission’s work aligns with the government’s Medium-Term National Development Plan and the “Big Five Changers.”
Mr. Sandi revealed that the ACC has conducted over 20 corruption risk assessments in the last seven years, resulting in 461 recommendations, of which 73% (336) have been implemented by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
He also mentioned that the compliance rate for asset declarations is encouraging, with improvements being made to the declaration portal in collaboration with DSTI.
On investigations, Mr. Sandi confirmed that the Minister of Social Welfare, Melrose Karminty, has been cleared of all allegations following a thorough investigation. However, Dr. Vandy Konneh, the former Chairman of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, is still under investigation, and further updates will be shared in due course.
