Officials from the Economic Community of West African States have held a technical discussion with the National Revenue Authority to strengthen the administration and collection of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Sierra Leone.

The engagement followed a recent ECOWAS capacity-building training aimed at improving domestic revenue mobilization and cross-border e-commerce among member states.
The meeting brought together the Commissioner General of the NRA, Jeneba J. Bangura, along with senior officials from the NRA’s Domestic Tax Department, the Monitoring Research Planning Committee, and representatives from the Ministry of Finance.

During the session, participants discussed practical measures to improve GST compliance, monitoring, and overall revenue performance. The NRA team, led by the Commissioner General, also highlighted areas where technical support from ECOWAS could further strengthen GST administration.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration to improve tax administration and support sustainable revenue generation in Sierra Leone.
