Mr. Dumbuya spent the night at CID
Secretary General of the All People’s Congress (APC), Lansana Dumbuya Esq., has been released from police custody after spending the night at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Freetown.

Mr. Dumbuya was questioned over statements made during a recent APC rally at the Atouga Stadium, where chants critical of President Julius Maada Bio and allegations of electoral fraud during the 2023 general elections were made.
The police have not announced any formal charges, and no official explanation has been given regarding the terms of his release.
Earlier, APC Members of Parliament suspended their participation in parliamentary proceedings, demanding the unconditional release of their Secretary General, a move that heightened political tensions.
Following his release, Mr. Dumbuya defended his remarks as lawful political expression, insisting that opposition voices must not be criminalised.
