The Women’s Forum for Human Rights And Democracy (WOFHRAD) has launched its office construction fundraising drive at the three plots of land acquired in Panlap Community, Kamakwie Highway, Gbanti Chiefdom, themed “Build with us to build change.”

The occasion, which took place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, attracted several dignitaries, including traditional and religious leaders, politicians, farmers, and civil society activists.
PC Masa Yali N’Tham |||, the Paramount Chief of Gbanti Chiefdom, Bombali District, who is also a Board Member of WOFHRAD, expressed delight for his chiefdom to host the organisation’s office, highlighting it impactful contributions to humanity.
“My Gbanti Chiefdom people should embrace this project to build a change in our communities,” he added.
Abu Bakarr Lamtales Kamara, Mayor, Makeni City Council, reechoed similar sentiments, emphasising WOFHRAD’s timely capacity-building interventions for councillors and accountability sessions to improve local service delivery.
“We should collectively support this sustainable drive to improve livelihood in our communities,” he called.
Aminata P. Kargbo, Board Chairperson of the Women’s Forum for Human Rights And Democracy, admitted her impression of this organisation’s continued progress, assuring the board’s unwavering support to the office construction project.
“WOFHRAD’s top-notch level of transparency and accountability makes it flourish during this difficult moment of scarce donor funds,” she stressed.
Emilia Kamara-Jengo, Co-founder and Programmes Coordinator of WOFHRAD, stated that the office construction marks the hallmark of the organisation’s sustainability drive, clocking two decades of perseverance and consistency in empowering women, youth and vulnerable communities in 2026.
She called on the support of individuals, government officials and private institutions, reaffirming its not-for-profit making existence and operations.
“We count on you now more than ever to build with us to build change,” Emilia Kamara-Jengo emphasised.
WOFHRAD’s office construction sustainability drive gained the admiration of many attendes, pledging both cash and building materials support, including ten bags of cement from the Women’s Action for Human Dignity (WAHD) Director, Betty Alimamy Sesay.
“We should own this project because WOFHRAD is ours” she acknowledged.
Supporting the Women’s Forum for Human Rights And Democracy office building project will help create a permanent space to coordinate life-changing programmes for women, youth and communities.
