First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, hosted members of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) diaspora at the Presidential Lodge for a dinner and celebration following the party’s 14th National Delegates Conference.
The gathering, held in an atmosphere of unity and gratitude, brought together SLPP supporters from across the globe to recognize their contributions to the party’s progress and future direction.
In her remarks, the First Lady expressed heartfelt appreciation for the diaspora’s continued support, both to the SLPP and to her husband, President Julius Maada Bio. Reflecting on her own background as a member of the diaspora, Madam Bio acknowledged the commitment and sacrifices many make to remain actively involved in national development and party politics from abroad.

“As a fellow member of the diaspora, I understand your passion and the sacrifices you make,” she said. “Your dedication is a cornerstone of our party’s strength.”
She went on to encourage the diaspora to rally behind the newly elected National Executive of the SLPP, emphasizing that their success is crucial for the party’s growth and preparations ahead of the 2028 elections.
“A win for the team today lays a stronger foundation for SLPP’s journey toward 2028,” she added.
The First Lady’s engagement with the diaspora reaffirmed the SLPP’s vision of inclusivity and global participation in shaping the political and social future of Sierra Leone.
