National Secretary General of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Lansana Dumbuya Esq., has vowed not to be intimidated by threats of imprisonment following his recent detention at Pademba Road prison.

The opposition scribe made the statement on Tuesday, 17th February 2026, shortly after his release, when he went directly to the party’s national headquarters in Freetown to address supporters and party executives who had gathered to welcome him.
Speaking to a jubilant crowd, he expressed gratitude to the APC national executive, general membership, Members of Parliament, councillors, the media, party bloggers, and his legal team for their support during his detention.
He also paid special tribute to Acting National Chairman, Osman Foday Yansaneh, for his role in securing Dumbuya’s release.
In a defiant tone, Lansana Dumbuya Esq said no amount of intimidation or imprisonment, including at Pademba Road Prison, would prevent him from speaking out on matters such as the disputed 2023 general elections.

“You can’t intimidate me with Pademba Road,” he declared to cheering supporters.
He also urged party members to remain focused on the forthcoming lower-level elections, cautioning against internal divisions, envy, and discord, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Secretary General called for unity and discipline among members, stressing the need to strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general elections, when the APC aims to return to governance.
