AG Meets APC on Constitutional Review

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay Esq, together with the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, engaged members of the opposition APC Ad Hoc Committee on the Implementation of the Agreement for National Unity at the Guma Building in Freetown on Friday.

The meeting focused on the recently gazetted Constitutional Review Bill, the process leading to its publication, and the next steps toward its consideration and implementation.

Both sides stressed the importance of inclusivity, transparency, and sustained dialogue in advancing constitutional reforms.

The AG updated the committee on Resolution 4 and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations under the National Unity Agreement.

He assured the committee that such engagements would continue next week to build trust and promote reforms.

The APC Ad Hoc Committee commended the Ministry of Justice for its transparent approach and called for continued cross-party collaboration in the national interest.

Members of the committee present included Dr. Kaifala Marah, Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, Dr. Richard Conteh, Hon. Chernor Bah, APC Legal Adviser Africanus Sesay, and Ms. Ajara Mboma.
