Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Milton Margai Technical University, Dr. Philip John Kanu has been placed on interim suspension following a report by a university sub-committee investigating alleged staff recruitment irregularities.

The suspension, announced by the university Court and effective immediately, is pending the conclusion of administrative and disciplinary proceedings.
Dr. Kanu is required to hand over all official duties and university property to Dr. Mohamed Ali Jalloh and refrain from university functions during this period.
The university emphasized that this measure does not affect Dr. Kanu’s right to respond to the findings, and the suspension will remain in effect until further notice.
Copies of the suspension letter were sent to the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, the Secretary to the President, and other key university officials.
