Cricket Sierra Leone Participates in One-Day Financial Governance Training for NSOs

Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) participated in a one-day financial governance training organized by the National Olympic Committee to empower National Sporting Organizations (NSOs) with key fiscal skills.

The traning covered fund disbursement proceedures,  record keeping, financial management and internal control requirements, eligibility criteria, among others.

The current Board of CSL, under the leadership of Chairman Francis Trevor Samura, prioritizes education and training to empower its youthful workforce to deliver the sport from all angles.

Beyond financial governance, one thousand and twenty-five people have completed various high-performance and development courses in cricket in the last four years.

The company has 54 people who have completed ICC Level 1 Coaching Course and 28 who have done the Level 2.

It has 267 trained Criiio facilitors and over 100 umpires.

It is aiming at training 1000 PHE teachers to deliver cricket entry-level programmes. The move is part of the ICC Legacy Programme for Africa, whose aim is to train 21,000 teachers by 2027 when Africa is going to host the ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
