Fatima Bio has called on members and supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) to study and uphold the party’s Constitution, describing it as an important guide to discipline, unity, and democratic leadership.

In a statement, the First Lady encouraged party faithful to carefully read Articles 16A to 16D of the SLPP Constitution, noting that the provisions reflect the values, structure, and integrity that define the party.

She emphasized that understanding the Constitution is a responsibility for every member, adding that political leadership should be rooted in accountability, due process, and respect for party institutions rather than personal ambition.

Mrs. Bio described herself as a proud and paid-up Distinguished Grand Chief Patron member of the SLPP, saying her membership represents a commitment to uphold the party’s rules, protect its unity, and preserve its legacy for future generations.

Highlighting the importance of service, she stated that patriotism begins with serving humanity, not the pursuit of power. According to her, true loyalty to party and country is demonstrated through sacrifice, humility, and discipline.

She urged members to not only read and understand the party’s Constitution but also to live by its principles in order to strengthen the party and safeguard democracy in Sierra Leone.
